I paid $0.11 each for 48 of these light bulb sockets. I bought so many as I have used a similar product made of Bakelite for many projects. These porcelain replacements were 5.5% the cost of the Bakelite versions; the mounting is different and simple. I believe these will withstand a greater temperature than the Bakelite versions. I have to supply my own plug and switch. Be careful and do not shock yourself nor burn the shed down.

As we all know an LED bulb (times two) closely equal the light of one 60 watt and greater size light bulb on your desk. The two LED bulbs consume a total of 7.4 watts. Fukushima Daiichi, Chernobyl, Bessie-Davis, Three Mile Island.... Thorium is a GOOD replacement for plutonium and friends?

Needed to mount new lights on our aluminum sided house. With aluminum you can't really unsnap them and re-snap like you do vinyl siding- so you need something that surface mounts.

I had bought some molded plastic mounts from the local big box home center but they were flimsy and when you'd try to screw the light down the box would flex to the point there was no way they'd be waterproof.

Bought one of these to try out. Took a long time to receive but was perfect when it arrived. Mounted securely, took paint and caulk well. Went back and ordered 4 more of various sizes for other lights/vents on the house.

I've recommended them to at least a dozen people locally.

This item is sturdy and attractive. It comes with two great technologies not found in regular motion-security lights: DualBrite, which reduces the bulb brightness by about half the normal wattage (saves electricity, and let's the light take on more of an accent effect) and Bulb-Saver, which brings the bulb back up to full brightness-gradually (which will help the bulb last longer). As you are probably aware, most bulbs "blow" when they are first turned back on. BulbSaver raises the power level just like increasing a dimmer...in stages. The motion sensor was more than sensitive enough to detect me at 30feet away, which is plenty for most driveways; and it's adjustable. I have now installed six Heath/Zenith/HeathCo products around my home and a basic knowledge of electricity and a screw driver was all it took.
