The builder left no clues about the paint formula, and our best efforts to match the paint were very, very close but not exact. We needed an easy, attractive fix, but our local home repair stores do not stock half-circle medallions so we would have had to loosen the ceiling fan's tight fit. Online, through Amazon, we found half-circle medallions, and they are the perfect solution. For the design we chose, all we needed to do was paint the medallion halves in a complementary color and affix them to the ceiling. We now have an architectural feature that adds texture and color to the ceiling. The medallions are very light weight, adhere easily, and add interest. But they have a much more substantial look to them and after you apply a bead of caulk to the halve pieces and around the perimeter and hide the set screws with your favorite doodad it adds a really nice touch to a ceiling fan while hiding any major blunders you may have made to the ceiling in the process. |
