The detail is exquisite. Be aware that the 18" diameter is measured from the tips of the 4 points (that stick out) - the rest of the medallion is about 1.5" smaller, so the actual diameter for the circle is 16.5"This item is very light. The mounting hardware and system included with this is very easy to install. It's much better than the 16" medalion I bought from Home Depot that had absolutely nothing with it for the installation. This medalion comes even with 2 types of screws.
