The instructions were clear, but required screwing the medallion into the ceiling. We mangaged to fastened it without screwing it in. Our electrician is a genius. This looks great, and was a great price. Really nice touch! Neither this 24" medallion nor the 20" required anything other than the pressure of the fixture canopy to hold them in place. I simply spray painted mine off-white a few times and they were ready to go. Very happy with the elegance that they lend the fixtures. I recommend this product highly.
